Replacement cylinder was a newer part which required more work than originally anticipated, but the seller was stellar in his communication and instructions, and I was able to successfully install the part. Note to aeron chair fixers: Those bolts are in there tight and can be (were by me) stripped. Research on the net suggests you start with some lubricant, let it sit a bit, then attempt a little tighten followed by a quick crank in the loosen direction. Great seller. A++

I primarily needed the cable stem, but upon opening, I realized it was the wrong style, as I have an older Aeron where the cylinder is top-actuated. However, I was able to use the plastic stem, so now I have an extra side-activated cylinder and cable.
