Weathering for Railway Modellers is a 2017 British soft-bound publication that is equally well-suited for both novice and experienced hobbiests. Chapter titles include Why Weather?; Paints, Washes and Dry Pigments; Airbrushing: The Basics; Rust in Peace (parts one, two and three); Turning to Dust: Cement and Scrap Wagons; and Timber Works. There are chapters on both freight and passenger cars, as well as steam, diesel and electric locomotives. Virtually every one of the 200-plus pages includes one or more color photos. Only the one page near the back cover listing British sources of weathering materials is of little use to the North American reader, but virtually all of the same types of products can be found in the U.S. and Canada. If you want to eliminate the plastic shine from freight ...
