  • A Creative, Swash-Buckling Tale for the Whole Family

Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson have combined their creative talents to write "Peter and the Starcatchers," a delightful re-telling of J.M. Barrie's beloved Peter Pan stories. The novel is a fast-paced adventure, complete with talking porpoises, stinky rogues, potential cannibals, a flying crocodile, biting mermaids, and a trunk filled with magical "starstuff." According to 14-year-old Molly Aster, one of the main characters, many notable persons and one god- Michelangelo, Attila the Hun, Zeus- derived their powers from the "starstuff" that occasionally falls to Earth from the heavens. It is the earth-bound Starcatchers' responsibility to secure the treasure before the "Others" capture it and use its mystical powers for evil. • Have you ever wondered where Peter Pan came from?

Wonderful book for all ages. Such a fun story to explore. I love clean, exciting plots. The plot is well developed and creative. Everyone has has the thought at some time or other, "Does Peter Pan have a past?". This book helps you to explore that idea with plenty of adventure and humor. The characters are well developed and intriguing. The bad guys aren't just generically bad and the good guys have their own character flaws. It is a fun book to read by yourself or out loud as a group or family. You don't even have to be familiar with Peter Pan to enjoy the story. We give it a double thumbs up.
