    A product of its time but still very good

    The C-8080WZ was released in 2004 so certain allowances must be made. For instance, the rear screen is tiny by modern standards, the ISO range is not great, and the processor is pretty slow saving RAW files. But look beyond that and it is a fantastic, feature-packed camera that delivers excellent image quality thanks mainly to its lens, which is probably the best ever lens put in a compact digicam. Also there is a wealth of buttons and manual controls that make it very easy to set up and use. The large battery gives excellent battery life and there is also the option for DC power when using the camera in a studio setting. It has slots for two cards, switchable on the fly, which is more useful than you might think. Lastly of course, it is an absolute bargain at current used prices!

    Superb lens and a way underestimated camera, fantastic value!

    I have an SLR camera but needed a back-up camers and this does the job admirably. The C8080 is what used to be known as a "bridge" camera ie something between a compact and an SLR camera. This description is however rather unfair on the C8080 which is really aimed at top amateurs or professionals who need a second camera. The lens is not interchangeable but within it's admitably not huge zoom range it is a superb lens that will beat the "kit" lenses supplied with top name brand SLRs. Lens quality is so good that, having passed this camera on to my daughter, I am considering getting another for myself again. Olympus as a brand is so much smaller than its Nicannon competitors that it is often overlooked and this is a pity as they are acknowledged to produce some of the best "glass" out ...

    I always wanted one of these cameras when they first came out in 2004 but couldn't afford one. This camera I bought of eBay was an absolute bargain, everything about this camera is what I expected..

    The best SLR-look-alike available

    This is my second C-8080. My first one still works after over 1,000,000 photos but had developed the odd problem. I bought another one, virtually unused, as I can't be without it. I originally chose the C-8080 to keep the SLR feel without the need to carry heavy lenses. I do a lot of stock photography and macro work. Here's to another million photos.
