So I made the mistake of buying one of those generic chain breaker/riveting kits which was actually sort of branded, but actually was pretty much identical to most of the sub £20 kits you see knocking around. After taking the precaution of filing the top from the link and scrupulously following the path described in so many youtube videos I got half way and then the rod pushing out the pin snapped. Don't bother trying to get individual replacements for those kits, it's a waste of time. So after researching other options I purchased this Oxford breaker/riveter and it's in a different league. The build quality is far higher and I think it's unlikely to fail like the previous one I had unless you go out of your way to make it happen. Solid unit with less hassle, just make sure you read the instructions and remove the tops of the links and you shouldn't go far wrong.Read full review

Excellent, well made and highly recommended, it makes changing you chain very simple. Splits the chain, pushes the link on and rivets the chain.
