Just works - which is what you want
Not sure why an Apple USB-C to Lightning cable doesn't work the same (connects but doesn't quite go the whole way in recognising the mic), but this one almost makes a VideomicNTG integral with an iPhone. Appears well made and fits the bill. Could be cheaper but not expensive considering you're connecting a £200 mic to a £1000 camera/phone.

Very poor quality
This lead unusually for rode seems to be very low quality. The very first time I plugged it in to test it it left the tiny light Ng plug stuck in my phone as I removed it. Sadly due to the way these things are wired this is the he only lead that works with Rode mics so I have had to replace it. Not impressed

The real deal
Whilst this cable looks relatively expensive it’s a vital piece of compatible kit to make the Rode II Microphones work. Don’t be a skint flint buy this cable and avoid a whole heap of frustration. Not all cables are alike.
