A very entertaining story line, ruined by a 6-hour speed recording. Too bad
This movie is one of my most favorite 'guilty pleasures'. I've seen Ralph Bates in one or two other movies, including another Hammer movie, produced in England, and while he's no John Gielgud or Anthony Hopkins, he does a serviceable job, here, and certainly earned his paycheck. Martine Beswick. WOW! 'Nuff said. The manufacturer of this tape, Republic Pictures, recorded this movie at the lesser-quality, 6-hour speed, and if you have any kind of discerning eye, and working with VHS for the past 35 to 40 years - I believe I can call myself something of an expert, I can tell just by looking the difference in clarity between 2- and 6-hour speed recordings. The movie takes place in London - pea-soup fog included, and, in my opinion, it didn't need any help from the manufacturer to make ... This movie is one of my most favorite 'guilty pleasures'.
