Well, you might think I have given this movie too high of a rating. The reason I give such a high rating is because this is the only movie to ever premier the Lincoln Futura BEFORE it became the Batmobile! Glen Ford's acting was rather good. Remembering where I have seen him in other works he played Johnathan Kent in Superman. Debbie Reynolds' acting was a bit overdone; if not at least very 'bubbly' and enthusiastic. I think she had a show of her own by her name...'The Debbie Reynolds Show', with Tom Bosley of Happy Days fame. Short-lived though. Saw it as a kid so I do not remember much of it. But You Tube has some clips and maybe even some full episodes. But,for me, the Star of the show is the Lincoln Futura. Painted red because the original pearlescent frost-blue white paint fooled the cameras and came out 'flat' on film...they painted it red so it would look good on film. This $250,000.00 laboratory-on-wheels was portrayed as a new model from Lincoln/Ford offered at $40,000.00 in 1959 (I believe that was the date of the plot in the movie, and of the movie production year); and this particular one (if it had actually gone into production) was being raffled off at a show. Too bad it never saw the light of production. The 1956 production model was nowhere near the beauty of this awesome car! Would be nice to own one these days!Read full review
Good movie with all-star cast with an interesting story-line. My wife enjoyed it too. This is an excellent addition to my DVD collection.
