Moderate analog multimeter at high price
I expected more of the Hioki 3030-10, first thing I check with analog multimeter before even connecting the leads is if the pointer keeps its position when the meter is placed horizontal or vertical. And Hioki fails here with noticeable half notch movement. A little better than the very cheep ones but I have meters less than half priced which performs better on this test. General accuracy is normal, here also not much better, if at all than the half priced units. Maximum current measurement of 300mA is also a limitation, 3A reading would put the unit much more useful. The very propper hioki tester.
This is a very good instrument. The measuring ranges have a good scaling. The instrument is good for transportation in this robust transport carrier. For the voltage and the current ranges no battery is necessary. Such an instrument is always usable.
