The Beatles at a Pivotal Point in Their History
A strange look at the Beatles in live on-stage performances that finishes with an interview after problems with the Philippines visit and John Lennon's comment about their popularity compared to Jesus. Their live performances were uneven, but the fans still reacted ecstatically. The interview was fair, leaving open the space for the Beatles to explain their positions. The group deflected, preferring to respond blandly and defensively or deflectively. They were not the same Beatles, then. No further live performances, but plenty of great and unique music out of the recording studios until the breakup some years later. If You Knew Paul was in a Band Before Wings Watch It
There is only one reason to purchase this DVD and that is for the interviews and original film footage. The production shots and lead-ins are at best high school quality. It appears the producers were on a "pony league" budget. However the footage makes up for it. I think you will find these young fellows handle themselves very well with the idiotic questions they get asked by our inciteful media...and you just thought the media became stupid.There is only one reason to purchase this DVD and that is for the interviews and original film footage. The production shots and lead-ins are at best high school quality. It appears the producers were on a "pony league" budget. However the footage makes up for it. The Beatles unauthorized.
The only footage i had never seen was Pete Best's appearance on "What's My Line ". All the rest I've seen in other docs. Disappointing.
