After one month of fair use, so far so good.
I’ve had three of these for about a month now, and so far so good. I use them to light up my garage (standard “single car” sized garage), which is remote and without a 240v power supply. I only ever use the lights on the low power setting. One light/lamp on the LOW power setting is more than enough to light up at least half of the garage at least as good as a 60W standard bulb might (if not even brighter than that). I suspend the light on hooks attached to the garage roof rafters. On the LOW power setting I’m getting just over 2 hours 30 minutes of continual strong light from one charge, exactly as it states on the packaging (I bought three lights to allow me to continue working for over 7 hours 30 minutes if I want to). They take a little longer to charge though, depending on the ... I’ve had three of these for about a month now, and so far so good. They take a little longer to charge though, depending on the charger you use. The lights come supplied with a charging cable, which is a USB type lead, without a three pin uk plug. This means that you need something like a smart phone charger to charge these lights. In my own brief experience with charging these lights I have found the following to be true. A standard iPhone plug/charger, used in conjunction with the USB cable supplied with the lights, takes about 5-6 hours to recharge a light. If you use an iPad charger (which will supply a higher amperage), the charging time is reduced to around 3 hours 30 minutes, approximately. The instructions clearly state that these lights CANNOT be used whilst charging. I’ve only used the lights on the LOW power setting. I’ve tried them on the HIGH power setting too, but the brightness only increases slightly, and I’d rather the battery lasted an extra hour personally for the situation that I use them in. The lamps are quite light in weight (approx 550 grams) and hang quite nicely overhead, in my experience. For me personally, the initial outlay will soon be recovered by not having to continually buy batteries for my old lamps. As a weekend diy mechanic I have found over the last month of use that these lights are ideal for my current set-up/scenario, and I would happily recommend to anyone with a similar situation.
