This router provides good dual-band WiFi coverage throughout my 4 bedroom house and works well with streaming video up to 4k. It seems to be reliable with no drop-outs or need to reboot it since I set it up about 5 weeks ago. However, with its current firmware, it falls short of my expectations in two areas: 1. The built-in firewall described in the user manual is no longer supported. It appears that the only firewall option is pay Netgear a (substantial) annual subscription for their "Armor" firewall/anti-virus software. 2. When originally released, the R7000 had a DLNA media server function (again described in the user manual). This too has been removed in subsequent firmware "upgrades" - presumably to free up memory space for the Armor function. Overall, I feel this makes the R7000 considerably poorer value than when it was first released.Read full review
