I really enjoyed this revisionist Michael Myers timeline. Anything to lose some of the more gonzo sequels and Rob Zombie's one-note efforts. And it was great to see Jamie Lee Curtis get a chance to bring real acting chops to the party - plus some much-needed payback to the 'Boogieman.' John Carpenter's presence lent the project a seal of approval - and his minimalist music score has never failed. Admittedly, I'd have liked to have seen more of Michael on the rampage - doing what he does - on Halloween - in Haddonfield. The violence seemed deliberately tamed, and most of the events seen - after-the-fact, which made them less potent. Also, the sub-plot was a forgettable misfire - but these things did not stop a great addition to the Halloween franchise. I hope they continue.
