I enjoy a game of good old Magic: the gathering, but when I read a story it has to be entriguing and the characters well rounded and built. When I first picked it up I thought The Cursed Land would be too card game like, but it wasn't. Great characters, great plot, struggle, and conflict. I suspect that even if a non magic player were to pick this book up, it would be enjoyed (if your into fantasy and wizardry that is).
A very well-written novel with a highly developed plot and set of characters. While the novel does not directly refer to elements in the Magic: the Gathering universe, it retains the typical conflicts and mysticism found in the card game series. This is an excellent novel for any fans of fantasy and magic, not only the fans of the M:tG series.
