About this product

Product Information

MechWarrior 2 gives you the chance to participate in the Clan Refusal War, a bloody civil war between the Clans that occurs after the Battle of Tukayyid. The Crusaders, led by Clan Jade Falcon, seek to launch another attack into the Inner Sphere. The Warden faction, led by Clan Wolf, believe that coexistence with the Inner Sphere is the best choice. The war will ultimately dictate which faction dominates the Clans.

You can play as either a Clan Jade Falcon or Clan Wolf MechWarrior and command a range of mechs ranging from light scout to heavy 100 ton assault mechs. Before missions, each player can select one or more mechs for his or her unit as well as customize equipment and weaponry. Although there is no restriction to stop you from taking the maximum number and tonnage complement, the Clans reward players who take fewer mechs or less tonnage than allowed.

The game's 3D world is viewed from a first-person perspective. Mission objectives must be completed while evading or destroying enemy mechs. During missions, each player must manage their mechs' heat level and ammunition, as well as command the CPU-controlled friendly mechs to organize strategy. Missions end in failure if the objective is lost or if mechs are destroyed through damage or overheating.

What more needs to be said, Mech - Warrior.

On the bad graphics... dude, the game's older than me, but it was a good buy. On account of my cousin leaving a lot of stuff in my childhood home, I got to be a certain age and then Dad cracked out the old ps1, lemme say, I never knew games could look better than that Ms. Pacman plug n' play console mom got on her birthday one year. But anyways, without saying a great much more, this game was a relic of my childhood that I'm happy to be reaquainted with.

  • No guts, OR glory!

Not a very good version of the classic PC counterpart. However, being the Battletech fan that i am, i had to buy this one for the collection. The controls take some time to get used to, but after a few tries, you get the hang of it. It's best to switch the control config to another setting, since the one they start you with is too basic. You will have a harder time completing the missions if you don't. I mean, you can't even zoom in the original setting. Aside from the difficult controlling, the graphics aren't half bad for its time. The music? eh, lets just say they didn't do much of anything to please the ears of the original PC players. The music is straight from the Mercenaries PC game and they play only 5 or so tracks! You'll get tired of hearing the same tracks over and over ...

  • Trimmed Down But Still A Winner

I loved this game on the PC when it came out, but inasmuch as I usually use a laptop these days I decided to try the Play Station version for my blast from the past. The original PC series is awesome, but since its intricate play requires the use of over half the keys on the keyboard, one would expect it to lose something when it is ported to a game system....and it does. Honestly, if possible you should play this game on the PC as no game system version can capture the joy of the controls. Nevertheless, this version conveys the spirit of the original and is a lot of fun. I'm glad I bought it. Bottom line: If you are new to this game you will enjoy this version in its own right, but if you've played the PC version stick with it. 4/5 Stars.

  • Good game but hard to play

IF you've never played one of the old I do mean old Janes F-15 computer games. Than this will frustrate the crap out of you. I found it and still find it entertaining. You have to be quick on your feet and have to think fast. If you thought elite on that lame game halo was tough on elite. Heh heh heh ^_~ this game will make you want to stick your remote threw the wall. Those of us who love these games will always love them. They're not ment to be easy but entertining and fun. IT gives you hours of Oh SNap am I going to make it. Phew. O_o CRAP MISSSLE AAAAAARGH. ^_~ see u on the battefield dudes!!!

  • MechWarrior 2

I am a big MechWarrior fan and when I saw that they came up with a PS of this game I was thinking that I would be a good game. So I got it and Yes its was sent to me save and sound, I was not happy with the game itself. But you know what they all say you win some you lose some. The game is yes base on the jade and the wolf clans but it had its own way of doing the missions and even the traning. The controls were very hard to understand. I will forgive the graphic for it is the PS they have gone a long way from then to now. To end all If you want to keep this as a fan of this game it would be worth something but to buy to play it I would stick to the computer part of this game. Well take care all. Animeeddy
