have used this lamp for two years for mtb as a helmet lamp, and also on handlebar when commuting, then together with a gvolt80 which has more focused and far-reaching light pattern plus: -very compact considering its ample light output -big, bright and floody sweet spot gives great useability. -light is not overly wasted to nearfield, which gives -good battery economy with just one battery cell -gives adequate warning for low charge, and when it finally dies you can put it on again for another 10-15 minutes at least twice:)) -batteries are easily changed on the go -spare battery can be used as power bank minus: -spare 3.4 ah batteries are ridiculously expensive -not possible to charge battery with lamp operating -connection for micro-usb on the lamp is fiddly; get a spare charger -mounting foot is a sensitive affair -optional helmet mount allows angulation of the lamp in too crude stepsRead full review

It's an exceptional compact well made rechargable light, with two flash modes and three steady modes. With the brightest steady mode you will see your way down unlit lanes on a moonless night without problems. The lowest steady mode is brighter than most, lasts 8 hours and you can see and be seen clearly. The mounting bracket is well made and the light clips on and off seconds so you can slip it into a bag or pocket for security. The 2 flash modes are different, one is a 'pulse' mode with a steady light and bright flashes, the other is a simple bright flash. As a driver I'm not a fan of flashing lights, yes they attract me attention but I find it harder judge a bikes speed and direction than with a steady light. (Personal opinion.) Pay about £60 and you won't be disappointed with a Cateye Volt 800. JohnRead full review

Good size doesn't take up too much room on the bars. Excellent mount can be fitted to all bar sizes and doesn't move when tightened. Light has good variety of settings, from see where you're going on unlit roads, with a good beam spread,to be noticed in daytime flash mode. Battery life pretty good, almost always enough for the rides I do, does take a while to charge though. All in all, very good quality, well made and reliable.

Although expensive, it has solved the problem of having to cycle through a very dark area. It 's amazingly bright on full power! The only problem I can foresee is that once I start wearing gloves it won't be easy to press the button if I decide to switch it off or change the lighting mode. Apart from that I would say this light is idea if you cycle in unlit areas.

Not used it often as yet but so far it does what it claims to do which is light up enough road/path to keep a relatively decent speed up and avoid potholes etc. Good quality, doesn't take too long to recharge and attaches easily to the bike. Overall very happy with this light.
