Super Space Invaders for the Game Gear adds weapon power-ups, bosses, elaborate enemy formations, colorful graphics, music, two-player simultaneous action (via link), and bonus rounds to the "slide-and-shoot" formula pioneered by Space Invaders, the coin-op classic from 1978. Gameplay is pretty decent (despite some misplaced humor involving cows), and the new challenges are nice, but the game is way too short. Unlike the original title, which could theoretically be played forever, Super Space Invaders has a final outcome, damaging the game's replay value beyond repair.
