Although really excellent at cleaning, it is so powerful that it is almost impossible, & very frustrating, to clean rugs with any sort of pile. I'm lucky I don't have shag pile carpet.... Other negative is that it is very heavy to carry upstairs, & it didn't come with a crevice tool, so doesn't clean the stairs well either. However that was my fault as now I look back at the description a crevice tool wasn't mentioned as included.
