      Well suited for purpose

      Airport Express allows you to integrate old audio equipment into a home Wi-Fi network - at least for MacOS/iOS devices. On updating the firmware I was able to get the device to support AirPlay2 on iPhones and MacBooks most of the time - resurrecting an old amplifier/speaker combination. I do find it a little sensitive at times although this may relate to the vagaries of wi-fi in general and the rather poor router in my particular setup. The box is small, neat and tidy, getting just a little warm only. The usual Apple build quality and its being a deprecated product made me happy to buy second hand for outlined purpose.

      Airport Express for HiFI

      Used this to connect the optical output it has in the 3.5mm jack socket to feed a DAC. Then into the RCA inputs of my old hifi - AirPlay works really well - very impressed with the sound quality that now streams from iPhone or iPad into the hifi!
