One Voice, A Massive Cast Of Characters
What isn't to like about The Lord Of The Rings? The story is excellent, with wonderful characters and settings, and plenty of increasing drama as you proceed through the story. Having it on audiobook makes it even better for me, as I can listen to it at work or while traveling. This set is well recorded and narrated, with numerous poems related, songs sung, fantasy languages translated, and characters brought to life purely by the power of a human voice. Even with one narrator on the job, you can hear the differences between characters of different origins and backgrounds with a single sentence. The only, and therefore best, unabridged LotR!
Rob Ingles brings great life to Tolkien's masterpiece. His character voices are compelling, and make a story that can be hard to trudge through for some readers very easy to listen to in the car or doing chores at home.
