Synopsis
Through stick figure drawings and a brief text, beloved and bestselling children's author, Munro Leaf explains why good manners are important. Kirkus believes Manners Can Be Fun to be the author's "best, both in idea and execution. Manners books are perennials--hardy ones at that--and this makes first steps in etiquette easy and fun." The children's classic begins: "Having good manners is really just living with other people pleasantly." This pleasant book will explain to children why good conduct is essential in the household, on the playground, and beyond. Munro Leaf is best known for How to Behave and Why and The Story of Ferdinand , which was an overnight international sensation upon its release in 1936.

Great seller, good value. The book arrived ina timely manner although I didn't understand why usps shipping routed the order out of state and then back when I live in the same city. I guess that's how the routes are set up. Anyhow. Good packaging although some bubble would be appreciated, it came in good condition, as described and definitely a valuable purchase. Thank you & God Bless 🙌

Most importantly, the book condition was as specified. Many thanks for that. Also, the book was delivered promptly from the US to the UK. Also, the price was reasonable for an out-of-print book. However, one point of constructive criticism: the packaging could have been much better, in order to better protect the book in transit. The book was sent in a bubble-wrap mailer only. It would have benefited greatly from cardboard packaging. Thank you very much for any consideration of my feedback.

  • Gets the point of using manners in everyday life understandable and funny

this is the best ever manners book for children. It was first published in the 40's and is by the same author as Ferdinand the Bull, Munro Leaf. The book makes having good manners make sense and in such a way that is not sentimental or overly ingratiating. It's blunt. The drawings are a delight and easily understood and identifiable by children. Some of the manners, like doffing your hat to a lady might seem out of date, but my grandchildren thought it was a delightful action to follow and now doff their hats to ladies. The pictures really effectively show children what a Whinny looks like, r a Nosey or a Me First or Smash, Rip and Ruin. I received this book as a birthday present when I was 5 in l946 and still have the original copy. It's a gem. I am grateful it is back in print since ...

  • Sure

A bit archaic and no diversity yet worthy to read and dissect... there seems to be a lacking in the topic with quality characters.
