    Great way-back

    I bought this album many years back for the history of what Cuban music was and it didn't disappoint. I misplaced the cd so thought I'd buy another.... used, I knew I was taking a chance (New cds are too expensive) so what the heck, I'd give it a try.... waited til what I thought was a good quality cd, good value. Was not disappointed.

    Music is a universal language. =)

    This is a great CD, with an awesome book liner notes that tells the story of some of Cuba's greatest artists getting together. I can't understand any of the lyrics, and that doesn't matter. Music is a universal language. =) ...the lyrics are translated in the cool liner notes I mentioned earlier, if you wish. Thanks to Ry Cooder and all those involved. *****

    Great tracks for decompression

    Rich, beautiful, organic tracks that lend themselves to chilling out on the patio w/ a cold libation or soaking up rays by the pool. The historic Spanish & Caribe influence will peel off the stress of the work week and toss your cares to the four winds. This music makes me feel as if I'm in Havana, sipping a Papa Doble with Hemmingway himself. Who cares if anyone is watching? Dance my friend, for life is too short to waste!

    Different in a REALLY GOOD WAY!

    The kind of music missing from most jazz collections. It's Cuban style that's all it's own. Lots of hand percussion and guitars. Excellent-like being in a Havana bar or night club!
