    Quiet, fast, reliable, and robust.

    While this hard drive is only 250GB it offers 6Gbit/s speed and it is made by an extremely reliable company (Western Digital). I have personally used these drives for years on end and I've never had a problem with them. The drives themself have a mechanism that when the power to the drive is lost, the head will automatically disengage, preventing damage to your data and to the drive and preventing data corruption in the event of a power failure. You can expect prolonged lifespan with these drives. Also, this drive is quite quiet. A typical laptop keyboard is much louder than this drive's read/write activity.

    These used items are still in good working order, although S.M.A.R.T. reports they have a lot of mileage on them.

    Used drives are often a crap shoot. Sometimes they have a lot of good life in them, and sometimes not. I've only had these used Seagate drives for a few weeks, so it's too soon to say how much service I can expect from them before they come to their inevitable end of useful life.

    New and fast

    Nice new hard drive. It works good. I just installed it in a system build. Not sure about how reliable it is, there's no other choice but I'm sure it will last like any normal hard drive.

    Wester Digital Hard Drive

    WD has always been a decent HD and this one does the job I need. The key factors are SATA III and 7200RPM - about as fast as it gets with mechanical hard drives.
