Hero Nathan Drake is back at it in "Uncharted: Golden Abyss" for the PlayStation Vita. This game finds Drake attempting to uncover the dark secret behind a massacre that occurred 400 years ago. The third-person action game uses cinematic storytelling to put you in the middle of the adventure. It will get your heart pumping as you unravel the various secrets and finally understand why the massacre occurred all those years ago. This "Uncharted: Golden Abyss" title is rated T for Teen, due to blood, language, violence, mild suggestive themes, and a drug reference. This action-packed game is single player and uses 64 MB of memory on the Vita.This particular PlayStation game was developed for the PS Vita by SIE Bend Studio and published by Sony Computer Entertainment with a release date of 2012. It was produced by Naughty Dog, the primary developer behind the "Uncharted" series of games. The gameplay in these "Uncharted: Golden Abyss" games has been retooled to work properly with the PS Vita.The story takes an average of 11 hours to complete on the PS Vita, and it will take even longer if you collect all the treasures. This game takes place shortly before the first "Uncharted" that launched the popular series of games. During this story, you're joined by Marisa Chase, a character who's connected to the massacre of a Spanish expedition in the region. As you control Nathan Drake for the first time, the story pits you against your rival and former friend, Jason Dante. When playing these "Uncharted" games, you will be taken through river basins and into ruined temples. The locations in "Golden Abyss" are all in Central America, but they are very diverse. This makes the cinematic set pieces you play throughout fresh and exciting. With the OLED screen of the PlayStation Vita, the graphics are pristine and crystal clear, providing for an enjoyable gaming experience.The touchpad and motion-sensing controls in the game have a high capacity, allowing you to easily jump, shoot your weapon, or throw grenades. To aim your weapon, all you need to do is move the PS Vita in the direction you're shooting and press the trigger. The game's front and rear touchpads further allow you to move either laterally or up and over any walls that lie before you. Rubbing the screen allows you to take imprints of any relics that you find in the game. You'll also need to tap the screen in certain instances of the story to move Drake safely across moving areas. During breaks in the pulsating action, you will have to solve intricate puzzles that allow you to progress through the story.There are three standard difficulties in these games: easy, normal, and hard. However, once you beat "Uncharted: Golden Abyss" on hard difficulty, you will unlock an even more difficult mode for an additional challenge. These challenge areas can be treacherous and include everything from dilapidated bridges to slippery logs and river crossings.
