Great as far as basics go.
The hand vise is perfect for what I'm doing with it. A great amount of value for the money. My only qualm with the tool is the shuddery nature of the movement of the clamp because of variations in friction on the threads. It's not smooth at all, but if I'm only twisting a little to release or add tension, then it'll work great. I'm glad I won't be twisting that screw very often. Good value, don't hesitate, just be aware of the sticky threading.The hand vise is perfect for what I'm doing with it. A great amount of value for the money. The pins are chromed and have no friction, If you hold something heavy it may be squeezed off, like a watermelon seed. This would work fine for small jewelry, but don't try and paint a while metal cavalry horse model. I took a marker and marked the pins at the top of the hole, I then used an abrasive cutter and carved a slot in each pin, and roughed them up. I also put a dab of hot glue on it before I use it. and a rubber mat under my work stool. A wonderful jem of a tool.
You'd expect a tool at this price would not be well made, but I was surprised by how good the quality is. The screw is well formed and turns with perfect smoothness. The jaws close solidly and evenly. The wood handle is nothing fancy but it's comfortable and sturdy. The guide rods are perfectly straight and well polished, though they do fit a bit loosely causing some play in the jaw, though not enough to be a problem. The inner faces of the jaws do have slight milling marks but I'm not expecting perfection at this price. This vise is very handy for holding small, delicate parts which would get crushed in a normal vise or would just not fit due to an odd shape. Anything round up to about 2.25" diameter can be held in this vise with the pins set in the right holes. Speaking of the pins, you ... The only thing I don't like about this vise is that you turn the screw clockwise to open the jaws. This is entirely counterintuitive and will surely cause me some frustration. But other than that I'm loving it. I just wish they made this vise in a larger size.

I wish that the holes would have been done straighter, they work perfectly to hold a disc from the inside diameter but not so well for the outside diameter and it is exactly how the ring is held on the picture so no complaint.

Works well
There is a little play in the vice, but that’s to be expected at this price. Works perfectly. I like the handle over the ball socket, and the handle is threaded so you can remove it and attach the vice to a fixed post on your bench. I made an adapter to allow me to clamp this in my normal vice.
