The best gate wheel around.
A robust and very strong gate wheel, this will be the third one of this brand I've fitted and they do the job for me, seeming to go on and on working in all conditions, rain; mud; with little attention. I've just given them a spray every so often with a well-known spray lubricant to keep the wheels free when they get very dirty and dry.

Poor design
This jockey wheel is let down by the thinness of the metal bracket which supports the spring and the distance from the mounting holes. When fixed to the gate it flexes and bogs down the wheel which refuses to rotate. Like a super market trolly with a stubborn wheel. The split pin which allows adjustment of the height does not work as it just passes the spring and jams. A good idea let down by using cheaper metal and poorly thought through design. It isn't "better than I expected" as you suggest, it is exactly what I expected. Simple, easy to fix and practical. Not strong enough to survive very heavy use perhaps but a good item.
