Great Coffee Table Book....
... because it shows the cast of the DC Comics universe in paintings by Alex Ross. Yes it has Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, the Flash, Aquaman, the Green Lantern, and the rest of the Justice League in Alex's stylized painting approach. There is an introduction by M. Night Shyamalan, the director of Signs and The Sixth Sense and of course the movie based on a comic book owner, Unbreakable. Alex is considered “the Norman Rockwell of comics,” and this book shows why. The artwork is worth the price of the book alone, but there is plenty of text also! Plus inside the book is an exclusive, original Superman-Batman story, written by Joe Kidd and painted by Alex Ross. Definitely worth reading and possibly owning for those DC fans out there!... because it shows the cast of the DC Comics universe in paintings by Alex Ross. From The Flash and Green Lantern to lesser knowns like Black Canary and The Atom, each one has the likeness of real men and women in costumes that are capable of astonishment. I have collected comics while I was a growing up. And as expect, as an adult, I now have more refined tastes. This book is a staple of my adult collection. This may be too much for younger kids, but I would highly recommended for anyone High School age and up. It’s truly worth the money.

Once you've seen a Ross piece, you can pick one out of a pile of various artists instantly. I fell in love with his art long before I knew it was his, or who he was. Now I know, and now I've begun an adventure of my own, collecting whatever Ross Art I can get my hands on...despite the small budget - it's worth every hard earned penny to own a piece of such remarkable work. Besides all that, his favorite superhero to paint - my all-time favorite and the All-American Superhero, Superman. This book covers through written word and illustration a rough ...
