I seldom write reviews but on this occasion I must explain why. I had previously purchased a leading branded hose reel which has been very disappointing and not inexpensive ..........now in the dustbin! The Claber Ecosei hose reel arrived in its original carton which has a range of simple diagrams printed on how to assemble the parts. You cannot go wrong as you can only assemble it one-way. The parts are mainly made from good quality heavy duty plastic with a steel frame. The mechanism is very positive and easy to wind. Altogether a very good choice. You will not be disappointed and is value for money. I only wish I had made it my first choice.

With the height of the handle the reel is very easy to move about no more stooping over to grip the handle. Fits together easily enough following the instructions on the side of the box it is flat packed in although a little oomph is required in places. Unreels ok and cranking the very stable handle gets the hose back on the reel in no time at all. A single clip is supplied to fix the end of the hose to the handle this would be better if it was a double or two single supplied as the short piece of hose that connects reel to tap has nowhere on the reel to connect to after disconnecting from the tap. All in all a very handy garden hose reel.

Not keen on the "clip together" plastic component construction. All fixing tangs definitely benefit from a light pre- greasing with vaseline or silicon lube to ensure a smooth easy engagement of parts and avoid "over forcing" Extremely small, poor and indistinct instruction photos are a problem if one is not mechanically minded. That said, it came together and looks like it may endure, despite the amount of plastic. We`ll see. Good prompt delivery service from Vendor

It's a good solid product and doesn't have the tendency to fall over easily when pulling out 60m of hose. The plastics seem high quality. The wide base and tall handle are great, as it's more stable pulling the hose out, and can be held while reeling it back in. I had a Hozelock reel that always used to tip over when pulling the hose out, and was very difficult to hold in place when winding the hose back in. It used to drive me mad. This is why I liked the look of this model, and was prepared to pay a bit more for it, in the hope it would solve those problems. It did, and I'm glad I took a punt on this one.
