I already have a Carbon Cub S from Horizon with the 'SAFE' stabilizer in it and it is what you really need to learn RC. This quad does not disappoint with the SAFE on it used in self level. It does flips and all. Two things that could be better are the fact it has no orientation lights for night flying and the transmitter that is with it is not great. I have put mine on a Spektrum 9 and it is a world better to fly. Matter of fact any Spektrum transmitter from the 6XI and up would be much better. The little guy is tough and the range is pretty good. Excellent in a large indoor space like a small gym or whatever. It can fly outdoors as long as there is no wind. One of the better beginners quads!! Horizon customer service is some of the best in the the RC world. As a matter of fact many retailers could learn much from them about customer service. Parts are available for this quad and batteries can be found that are a bit larger in capacity for longer flights.Read full review

Pros: This quad is very stable and fast if you want it to be, Cheap and easy to get spare parts, Lightweight, Awesome in safe mode for a beginner. The Cons: The main frame is too flexible and even though it is, it will break at the prop guards because of the channel type construction and its ability to bend easily during a crash into an object. The prop guards will also need bent back often. No directional led lights make it difficult to navigate your direction when you get further away. I have added a light kit but the run time was taken down to 3.5 minutes from the prior 5. Needed to be designed for a slightly higher mah battery and lights from the start to score higher IMO

I have had this for about 2 weeks, this thing is about the size of your palm. When I pulled this out of the box I was a little discouraged. After flying, wow this thing is awesome! I have crashed it so many times at full force, the protective plastic around the flight board is all sorts of beat up, I'm still on my original set of blades and they are chipped and gaulged but this thing remains to fly exceptional and continue to take all the beating I can give it. I haven't attempted to take this thing outdoors given how small and light it is but its great indoors! You get about 10 minutes of flight with 30 minutes of charging. And everything is replaceable with low cost, you can get bigger batmotors, better motors different shields, I have heard of people attaching keychain cameras for fpv. I highly recommend this product if you're looking for a fun a indoor quadcopter.Read full review

This is a really cool quad. I fly a Hubsan H501S X4 which has GPS and is easy to fly. The Blade Nano QX does not and it's a challenge to fly without the safety and security of GPS. Having said that, flying the Blade Nano QX will really sharpen your skills for flying in manual mode and is a great training quad that you can fly indoors to get your technique together. Very fun quad and this is a great package with the extra batteries.
