A classic, side-splitting comedy. One of the all-time greats.
A friend and I were both going through tough times several months ago, so I purchased some classic comedy DVDs. We watched this together, and it was great for our mental health! Laughter truly is one of the best medicines. So many great performances here: Gene Wilder, Madeline Kahn, Cloris Leachman, Marty Feldman, Terri Garr, and Peter Boyle. I highly recommend this film.

Written by director Mel Brooks and the film's star, Gene Wilder, YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN has all the usual--and in this case slightly unusual--suspects: the reluctant scientist Frederick Frankenstein, who is actually the grandson of the infamous creature-creator (pronounced "Fronken-steen" and played by Wilder), his spoiled fianc�e (Madeline Kahn), Igor the pop-eyed hunchback (Marty Feldman), his dizzy assistant (Teri Garr), the castle's hideous head housekeeper (Cloris Leachman), and, of course, the Monster (Peter Boyle). just what I needed. price was great.
I bought this DVD because one of my sisters and me have Hallowwen parties. Plus, this is one of our favorite movies ever. Peter Boyle is gone now and I really loved him. We pick out a movie for our theme of the party and plan it around that. While the party is going on we play the movie. We dress in character from the movie too. I had the movie in VHS and well outdated. Ebay is a great place to find lots of items for your parties etc. and you don't have to leave home. Next year the Young Frankenstein movie is going to be our theme. We actually have different kinds of parties when we can get together. In the summer we have our annual "JAWS" PARTY and serve fish and chips, with cole slaw etc. in the old diner plastic red baskets. I didn't dislike anything about it. Funny spoof on Frankenstein!
Very good movie. Follows the original Frankenstein story lines, but instead of the dark, scary tale, you see a satirical side with laughs throughout. Cast of characters are perfect for their roles.
