The first book I bought about 5 years ago I started to read and discovered the CD couldn't play on my pc machine. So I was very glad to have found the 2nd edition online on Ebay. I read the first couple of chapters and it was very encouraging what is written in the book for beginners like myself who have had some piano lessons {guitar}(organ lessons too). Who want to improve on their playing of piano and in some aspects organist playing. This book is down to earth to explaining the history of piano and organ, the notes, scales, chords etc. I am glad to be able to go at my own pace understand what Author Blake Neeley has revised. IT HELPS TO HAVE SOME KNOWLEDGE OF MUSIC THEORY and do the best you can. Sometimes it does help to have a teacher help which is still valuable. Because I kept up at playing and studying music on my own time amid my innterruptions at home. I am able to follow and pick up " little helps" in improving my music playing. PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT!!!! is my motto when learning music theory. The colour YELLOW of the book is very pleasing recognizable to all DUMMIE readers. The cd that came with the first edition didn't agree with my pc, but it was tested on other cd players. WALKMAN, ETC. but I wanted to be able to see which track I am on the media center of my pc. So I took a chance to obtain this 2nd edition and I am very glad I was able to obtain the 2nd editon which agrees with it, in playing piano sounds by Blake Neely. I am glad to have bought this DUMMIES BOOK ON PIANO. You have to start somewhere, a basic level. Beginners level, Thank you Rose27Sharon, Kathleen GRead full review
Great book! Starts from the basics and builds from there. If you already know some of it, you can skip to the parts you want to learn; it all works independently.

I have found this book to be easy for me , but it take a lot of reading to understand the music notes. Practice is a valuble asset to learning how to play with a average of 45 minutes - one and a half hours plus per week to make this book work for you. I'm giving myself 24 months to reach my goal.
Price was great.!!
