This is brilliant, you have to ignore the fact that its not widescreen until the later series and the early ones are a bit grainy on an HD TV. BUT the stories are well thought out, the characters are well rounded and the acting is excellent. There is enough drama to carry the story but moments of lightness to stop it getting too heavy. David Jason is superb in this showing himself to be a fine actor outside the sitcom genre as well as in it. The actors supporting him are well cast and its great spotting those up and coming actors who go on to appear in major roles in Dalziel and Pasco, Midsomer murders and others. In one episode there is a very young Damien Lewis. Well worth the money.

Sir David Jason at his best! We've all known David Jason as Del Boy in Only Fools and Horses, but this goes to show the great acting talent he really has. The series shows the human side of police work on a personal level. All of the stories are an engaging mix of drama that is injected with a dry sense of humour. I highly recommend this series.

Whilst some stories about various levels of crime set in a drab environment can initially be depressing, they are offset by the well thought through plots and unerring sense of humour. Well worth the cost and time spent watching.

I bought this Box set as crime drama is a guilty pleasure in which I often indulge. As a Sherlock Holmes Fan who has exhausted the Jeremy Brett Complete Series, this is a departure from my norm. However, the cocktail of superb television acting with plot-lines addressing controversial, and sometimes sinister, themes with an original take won me over with ease. The saga packs action, humour, romance, intrigue, drama and the dark themes of persecution, stigmatisation, paedophilia, injustice and anti-establishment with familiar characters, sets and scenarios. The episodes and series manage to evolve over time sufficiently to maintain the attentions of a regular audience, while it stays true to its early roots. A Touch of Frost is an engaging experience and I enjoyed watching the developments of the over-all story line, alongside the commensurate changes in the quality of the filming. This truly is a British institution and it comments on the dramatic improvements in the quality of television since the 1990s. David Jason executes this roll with finesse, disproving the misconception that he is 'just' a comic actor. I am thoroughly glad I bought this product, which was almost 50% cheaper than the regular retail price. In excess of 4000 minutes of content confirms it as a good investment which I will enjoy well into the future, unless I can possibly become over-familiar with all fifteen seasons...Read full review
This is the full set of all the Jack Frost episodes, and what a shame that the current program makers have forgotten how to make fantastic detective series like this. If you loved this first time round, this box set is an absolute must.
