As someone who still doesn't know what he wants to be when he grows up, So, I'm getting back into model railroading. Thirty-five years ago, there were two options for roadbed- cork or lattice which had to be planed for effect. To get started again, I went to a local train store and bought a few sections of flex track and cork road bed from the nearby bin. No one there told me about the alternative which I discovered here on eBay. Even with the shipping charge, the price is lower than cork, and is as flexible when being affixed to the table surface. I can easily make cuts with a sharp blade and it s easy to apply ballast or other texture after laying the track. The sound absorption factor is good, too.
