I rubbed it into the waxed cotton motorcycling jacket OK along with some Belstaff Proofing Compound. I am sure that it will have made the jacket more water-resistant. I might try melting some lard into the Belstaff Compound container to see if that works in the same way. Thanks!

Does what it says on the tin!

Cheaper than the brand leader. Very easy to use. I reproofed a jacket in less than a hour. The jacket now looks like new and keeps me dry.

  • Does What It Says On The Tin

Just a great product! Used it to re- wax a thirty year old jacket that had never been re-waxed since new. It was easy to use but I recommend using a hairdryer to soften the wax once on which gives it a very even overall finish. This product has turned an almost unwearable jacket into something I would wear on any outdoor pursuit with pride.

  • Wax your cloths

Waxed a none waxed jacket just to give it a hard test, I got stuck in the rain and it worked great. Very good product does exactly what it claims to do. I used a hair dryer to penetrate into the fibres of the jacket with the wax. I also spread it with my hand but wore a rubber glove to avoid getting it on my hands. Works well good product.

  • Best dressing to re wax Barbour and other wax jackets.

Fantastic product, suitable for re waxing both traditional wax and Barbours "classic", range. There is instructions on the tin or the method I use is; 1. Clean the jacket using cold water and sponge, (Remove all traces of lint, loose threads etc because they will become integrated into the jacket when it's waxed.) Allow to dry thoroughly. 2. Melt the wax either in a bowl of hot water or very gently on a log burner. 3. Use a sponge and work into the jacket one panel at a time, use a hair dryer to even out the wax. 4. Any excess wax can be removed from the jacket by warming with the hair dryer and dabbing with the sponge. 5. Leave in a cool place for the wax to set for 24 hours. Repeat the process of necessary to even out any patchy areas. Be aware your jacket may leave traces of the wax on ...

  • Waxed a jacket washed and stripped of wax due to mould after a year in damp cellar - DELIGHTED!

Excellent! Had to re-wax a jacket that was washed due to having started to mold in a moist cellar. I slightly dampened the jacket with a spray bottle, rolled it tightly and let it rest for 15min. Put the wax in a bain-marie let it become liquid, Used a small flat brush with hardly any wax to add the wax around buttons. Started with the hood to get a feel for the job. Used a sponge and lightly dabbed on the wax starting with smaller areas such as collar, pockets etc. After dabbing an area lightly with wax, changed sponge and worked with downward short strokes and switched to horisontal short strokes. When all areas of jacket covered - added a layer on shoulders and part of back, where we get wet! Massaged the jacket and the was was lovely for the hands so elbows and heels got a little ...
