20mm Ferules with a Tread
On the one hand, nobody wants to get to the point when staying on ones feet is dependant on a cane. On the other hand, lying face down in the gutter is worse. The tread on these is a slight cushion for the elbow, which is appreciated. Also the tread is a help on moderately slippery surfaces. So, if you have to use a cane, might as well do the job right and have a decent ferule!

Dangerous ferrules,, don't be fooled by the word HEAVY DUTY
Dangerous,,,,, 3 wore out in less than half a day, 1 after 200 yard round trip to the postbox, 1 after half an hour walking around Morrisons causing me to fall and bruise my elbow and bum as the stick came through the bottom of the ferrule and then it just lost grip. Obviously my unprotected stick slid on the hard floor and I ended up on my back, and the other one just using around the house this afternoon, the other went in the bin. Very thin at the base forget the nodules they wear down very quickly outdoors. I have just fetched the one I threw away out of the bin. I cut it in half and removed the nodules from 1 half carefully to the level of the main rubber to show that it is very thin rubber at the base in the attached photo. I put a penny next to the half with the removed nodules ... Inexpensive rubber rubbish
Far from being 'heavy duty ', they are made of very thin material. The first one only lasted a week before the walking stick cut right through! I have now forced a metal washer into another ferrule in the hope that this will extend its life. The ferrules were very cheap, though, so not worth sending back.

Ok But was a slack fit on my stick and of course all sticks are not exactly uniform size. A small drop of super glue provided an easy solution Value for money.

Make sure you know what you are looking for. Plastic is soft and look like a poor quality
None of seller fault. I thought it would be a strong plastic but it is quite soft and look like a poor quality that will not survive a great use from someone walking with a cane. Anyway, keeping it and looking for other models. Also, it seems smaller than the one I need to replace. Unfortunately, the cane is thousands of miles away from me and I can't check fit.
