Thermal Grizzly - Disappointing
As a veteran PC enthusiast and IT tech I'm no stranger to modding, custom components and so forth. After what I had heard about Thermal Grizzly I thought I would take a break from my usual Coollaboratory Liquid Ultra and try some TG Hydronaut. I have to say never before have I tried a thermal material that failed as miserably to impress as the Hydronaut has. The performance is average at best despite the very high 11.8W/mk thermal conductivity rating and due to this I have no doubt at all when I say it is overpriced for the performance it offers. Attempting to spread TG Hydronaut with the supplied rubber applicator was also a complete pain in the arse it worked out much better removing the applicator and spreading it with my usual applicator card. Excellent thermal properties easy to apply and when used on my delidded i7700k managed 5.1ghz but satisfied with a stable and quiet 5ghz. Have used other thermal compounds but this is the first of the liquid metal variety i have ever tried..
