Good for an extra Wireless base

I've used this and other routers to extend our wireless network, connecting the routers with powerline ethernet connectors and setting them up with the same SSID and password etc. It also offers extra 100Mbps fastethernet ports.

  • GOOD IF NOT USING HUB 3

No real comment, works fine as it should do. Don’t support fiba optics but its neat easy to set up for BT providing you leave the unit plugged in and never switch it off , otherwise you will have slower speeds than dial up. BT uses yahoo mail and caused me lots of problems with email at first verifying this that and everything. Can get hub 2 with telephone cordless. Using now hub 3 so hub 2 is lying idle for spare if needed. Price second hand is very cheep on ebay where I purchased mine from. Hoping to use it in my outbuilding, but you cant have both hubs running so I got mains plug in hub, working great. PJ

  • If you cant get BT Infinity, then this is the best hub to go for. Excellent

    - Why you bought it: It was bought to replace my BTHomeHub1.0 which had started showing occasional problems (possibly due to a re-installation, but it had been more reliable that a lot of others I'd heard about up to that point) and its menus seemed to be having problems in the newer browser versions. I bought the Siemens version which I was told is more reliable that the other Chinese manufactured version. - What you like most about it: It is a bit faster than the old hub, it uses less energy and has an energy-saving power-off timer to switch off when not being used for known times. It starts / resets and connects MUCH faster, the buttons are much easier to access and its menus are much easier to use. It also works with my old hub phones. (A key reason for buying this over a hub 3.0) - ...

  • Useful wifi coverage, cheap & cheerful modem.

Cheap and cheerful backup modem, that's almost as good as the latest BT Homehub 3.0, if you have one! If you are an existing BT broadband user, it's a simple load the driver software (hopefully provided!) and plug in and play, providing you have the security key number sticker provided with it. Otherwise the modem apparently can be software 'hacked' to work on other broadband networks. The wifi coverage is very good, and I can use my tablet computer anywhere in the garden now, and even in the garage about 50ft away!

  • Upgrade Your Wireless Router

Its a fact that your broadband provider will, when setting up your line, install the cheapest router that they can. I'd been with my ISP for three years and they simply refused to upgrade the router and, with technology moving so fast, a three year old piece of kit is damn near archaic. So, I bought a better router, plugged it in, put the password in my pc and got twice the speed I was getting 20 minutes earlier.
