Experience the unforgettable, heartbreaking love story set in post-World War II North Carolina about a young socialite and the boy who once stole her heart -- one of PBS's Great American Reads. Every so often a love story so captures our hearts that it becomes more than a story-it becomes an experience to remember forever. The Notebook is such a book. It is a celebration of how passion can be ageless and timeless, a tale that moves us to laughter and tears and makes us believe in true love all over again... At thirty-one, Noah Calhoun, back in coastal North Carolina after World War II, is haunted by images of the girl he lost more than a decade earlier. At twenty-nine, socialite Allie Nelson is about to marry a wealthy lawyer, but she cannot stop thinking about the boy who long ago stole her heart. Thus begins the story of a love so enduring and deep it can turn tragedy into triumph, and may even have the power to create a miracle..., Experience the unforgettable, heartbreaking love story set in post-World War II North Carolina about a young socialite and the boy who once stole her heart -- one of PBS's "Great American Reads". I don't understand how to "Review" the title of the book.

In this case I think the movie was actually better than the book. There is almost nothing in the book about their youth and them taking time to fall in love. In the book their eyes meet and they are in love and then it's 14 years later. The movie expanded on many elements that enhanced the original story which is unusual. The book is still a very good story it's just that the movie made a better love story.

  • Books

My daughter's house flooded when hurricane Harvey hit her area. They have lived with us since late August waiting for insurance money for their house to be worked on. It is being done now. Some of the things she lost was her hard bound books. She was devastated over all her losses and was very sad about her soggy books. I bought her ten Nicholas Sparks books for Christmas. I had to give her a picture since they would not arrive till after Christmas. The books came in two packages. To see the smile on her face was worth every penny I spent. I will finish her collection soon.

  • A GREAT READ

THIS IS THE BOOK THAT YOU READ WHILE IT'S RAINING. THE WORDS JUST SINK IN. THIS STORY IS GREAT. IT'S NOT LIKE ANY OTHER STORY I HAVE READ. WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THIS BOOK IS IT'S GRACE, ADVENTURE, LOVE, AND SO MUCH PASSION WITH IN THIS BOOK.

  • To me it was confusing because I was thinking that the story would be reveal in a diary or a personal notebook.

This book for me was a page turner. I was in doubt for a while in which direction the book was going. One thing that I liked about the book was that it seemed to have a sort of wholesome feeling while at the same time an adult approach to conflicts and development of the narrative.
