      Fun with absurdity

What a fun book. But it's difficult to gauge the appropriate age for this book. The content is a little dense for real young kids. So it takes a bit of work on your part, explaining and pointing out the absurdity of the words within the book. It's essentially satire, which kids aren't the best at picking up on. Maybe it's just that the book expresses my own personal frustration with the language and it's spelling anomalies. I very much enjoyed the book.

Loved the book until I got to O

I bought this book both as a joke for my brother-in-law, but also for a good teaching book for my intelligent nephew. Once I received the book in the mail, I delightfully began to flip through it to see what each word would be. I enjoyed it until I got to O. Ouiji was the word. Needless to say, I’m not sure what other silent O word there is, but I can no longer in good faith give this book as a gift to my nephew. Not sure what I’m going to do with it now. :(

    • Phun Booque

This book has shining examples of weird spelling and things that could throw a phonics student into a twisted fit. Things like "Z is for Xerox" is all throughout this book. The prefect "coffee table book", my guests have looked through it several time and gotten a chuckle every time. Not an aide for teaching, but a source for humor and the never-ending question of "Why is this?"

    • Cute book fot mature young readers.

Clever book highlighting inconsistencies in English. Not all youngsters would understand the tongue in cheek text but more mature readers will get a chuckle.
