The mount seems robust enough to keep the light in place, and allows me to mount it above the saddle bag for maximum visibility and protection from mud spray. As mentioned in the description it's not easy to remove the light once installed, without removing the bolts, but you can charge up the light with a long USB cable.

Yes, it's small, but mine (which is 55mm because it's a Boardman saddle) fits perfectly, and allows me to slide my Cateye light in and out, so no longer dependent on hanging a light on a saddle bag (which occasionally falls off).
