The water coming out of Tidal HOB is more turbulent. The AquaClear (now Fluval AC line) is smooth. Also, the box design of AC is nicer than the curve / angle of Tidal so changing and placement of media is far easier and efficient. I have replaced all my Tidal 110 (2) for two new AC 110. I suspect Tidal knows this as their price has dropped.
