I reviewed several books for for primary text use in an undergrad Cold War history class and this is the best one volume text I found. Gives good coverage to major events and does a good job of explaining the origins and twist and turns of the cold war.

This is an excellent book about the history of the Cold War. The book begins with the end of WW II and ends with Gorbachev's perestroika. This books is very interesting as Gaddis analyzes every major Cold War event in pieces. I felt like I was reading an interesting novel, and not once did I feel bored reading it. Highly educational and highly recommended.
I liked being able to purchase this book on E-bay because it was a gift for my father & it was anitem that I didn't want to waste lots of time driving around or calling to various book stores to find. It was easy to find on E-bay & I was able to have it mailed directly to my Dad! Easy & satisfying experience.
this book is very interesting. I actually had no idea about this book. Only only bought it because I had to take a class and the professor recommended it. But i was disappointed at all
