When George Strait released this album I wonder if he or any one else ever even dreamed of the sort of success he would achieve. This album, Strait Country, was the first and only a taste of what this man would bring to the world of music. If You’re Thinking You Want a Stranger is a classic country, great two steppin’ song. Down and Out is a catchy tune, Her Goodbye Hit Me in the Heart is another fine classic on this album. To add to the superb country taste of this album, George performs for you a remake of a George Jones tune, HonkyTonk Downstairs. You could use the phrase classic country for this album over and over again and it would just prove how fitting that phrase is. If you don’t buy this album for any other reason that it has UNWOUND on it, that is reason plenty enough. Those twin fiddles, right from the first note, set this song up as true country and though many years and many songs have passed, few are better than this true country song, Unwound. If you a new fan to country music you owe it to yourself to purchase this CD.Read full review
My brother ordered it, I’m all about jazz, he’s all about country, but if he ordered it I’m sure it’s good.

This is the guy who got me back to Country in the early '80s with these songs. He's still going strong and I'm still listening to Country!
