About this product

Product Information

The developer of the arcade-style baseball game The Bigs returns to the field with an entirely different take on America's pastime in MLB Front Office Manager. Designed for statheads and sabermetricians, Front Office Manager puts players in the role of general manager of a MLB team and tasks them with building a winning franchise. Gamers create a unique GM by choosing appearance, age, nationality, and most importantly, professional background -- a decision that will determine if the GM is stronger with money and contracts or scouting and development. Aside from the standard tasks of making trades and signing free agents, players will also need to manage minor league rosters, set budgets for worldwide scouting, participate in the Rule 5 draft, and even bid on posted Japanese free agents. <br><br>Solid personnel moves increases a general manager's attributes and mistakes have the opposite effect, but luckily gamers can consult Billy Beane, GM of the Oakland Athletics and star of the book Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game, for in-game advice and encouragement. Players can also watch broadcast-style presentation as they manage some of the finer points of each contest, while gamers looking for multiplayer action can head online for fantasy leagues featuring traditional rules for rotisserie and head-to-head scoring systems.

  • Not For Everybody

If you like the idea of running a baseball team from minor league all the way up to MLB. If you like scouting and spending lots of time looking at players skill sets. If you like simulation building games. This game is for you. If you wan't to play a baseball game then this is not the game for you. You play the role of a front office manager as the game is entitled. I love the game. I own it on my xbox360 and the PC version. I use a keyboard and took a little getting used to but once i figured out right/left click options it was a breeze. Quick hint. Don't waste your money on big name free agents. Build you're team from the free agent market targeting 18-19 year old players each year and you will build a power house. If you sign expensive free agents, with age there skills decline and your ...

  • not what I expected........

The idea of the game is great , but if I would have known you HAVE to be online to play it , I would have never got it. You have to got through Steam client and access the game from their site. The game does not download into your computer.I like to play games on a separate machine , with no internet , that is dedicated to game play.A little info goes a long way . Shame on me for not digging deep enough to find this out , but should I have to?

  • USED 2K Sports MLB Front Office Manager

**Do not purchase this game if it used!!!!! activation code on game can only be used once. the game is protected against selling on auction sites like ebay. i recenlty purchased the game and i can not play it. there is nothing i can do but eat the $20+ spent on the game. the game is usless without a brand new activation code, and you cant purchase an activation code seperatly.

  • 2k sports u suck!!

I wish I could tell you how the game is, unfortunately my video card is not good enough to play this game. I can play medal of honor, silent hunter and call of duty games but not this sport management simulation game. We all know that graphics and animation are the most important things in a sport simulation game. This was the last 2k sports game I ever bought.

  • Waste of money

Don't even know where to begin with this.. the IDEA of the game is great, the execution is awful. So many bugs.. I started with the Atlanta Braves who currently have a payroll of around 100 million, and the game told me I had 65 million to work with.. meaning I had to let nearly the entire team go. Would be great if this game would have a roster update, but not so much.
