I bought mine new over 20 years ago and it still looks and sounds as good as when it came out of its box. It does look smart with its navy blue leatherette cover and despite using such a small loudspeaker it does sound good due to the MDF cabinet. It has average sensitivity on AM, good enough for picking up strong local stations, FM sensitivity is rather good easily pulling in both local and more distant stations. The PP9 battery lasts ages and of course it runs off the mains via a battery eliminator. I have repaired one for a friend and was amazed at the good build quality and how you can take it apart to repair.

I bought this radio because I have always loved Roberts Revival Radios, but was not prepared to pay the £150+ price tag of the latest versions. When I realised I could get older styles of this classic radio I started bidding almost straight away, and from several listings I have watched, you can win the R250 for a very reasonable price. I love the fact that it has the old fashioned bits like the knobs you dial instead of digital radios, and how you can open it up and see the circuit board etc inside. These add a lot of charm to the radio, and yet it still has a great sound quality which would match the current radios of today. My only problem - and a very small one - is that if you do not know the station numbers of your favourite radio stations you will have to find them every time you want to change station, as you can't just click through stations like on digital radios. All in all, one of my best ever purchases - an opportunity to own a piece of radio history that still looks and works fantastically well.Read full review
Great little radio considering it's not digital. Good sound and in great cosmetic condition. You can see it's been well looked after, and it came with a good battery and instruction manual.
