    Solid tubes

    Russian 6P3S-E tubes are not exactly 6L6 GC but they work well in those positions. I'm not a guitar amp guy but I've found the 6P3S-E tubes to be robust and great-sounding in my DIY audio amplifiers. They can handle voltages higher than the spec sheets, 325v on screens, 400V+ on plates. Currently using in Heathkit W4M clone amp and sound terrific.
