In Splatterhouse, college student Rick Taylor embarks on a violent quest to save his girlfriend, Jennifer, from untold horrors lurking within a mad scientist's creepy mansion. A metal soundtrack sets the mood for the ensuing mayhem, with licensed songs from Lamb of God, Mastodon, ASG, Terrorizer, and more. Splatterhouse marks the return of Namco's fright-filled franchise that made its U.S. debut in 1990 on the TurboGrafx-16. This is the first version of the game since 1993's Splatterhouse 3 on Sega Genesis.

Item was as described, a few surface scratches but nothing major. My whole purchase on this was it was tested before purchasing.

The good and the bad....
I loved the original installments of this series. For their time, they were bloody and just plain evil fun. So needless to say I was looking forward to a new iteration. The game is fun, difficult, but fun none the less. Things that annoyed me about this game are the camera, invisible walls and did I say camera? The voice acting is all that terrible and the story seems pretty cool. Nothing really new but still a good idea for the game. I have put in a good bit of hours with alot of dieing. And I mean ALOT! Personally, if this game had dropped at $39.99 it would have been just about worth the pick up. Paying anything more just isnt worth it. If you can get this game for less then $30 and loved the series prior to this, pick it up. Its a gore fest with over the top violence. (Definatly not ... Great game. Many hours of entertainment.
Having had played the original versions back in the 80's and 90's, I went in with low expectations. At first I found the controls a bit complicated and exhausting but after about an hour I got used to it. I'm an average game player and usually am pretty good at games. I found this game to be pretty difficult, even on the easy mode. I did enjoy it and still find myself going back to it every so often. Cult classic not to be overlooked
This game received a lot of criticism back in the day, but has proved to be a cult classic. Yeah, it can be rough around the edges in some parts, but the overall experience is great. There is a reason the price has gone up on Splatterhouse.
