Having been an electro-mechanical engineer all my working life I have purchased many different makes of insulated electrical screwdrivers and pliers, some have been pricey and not worth the money whilst some have been relatively cheap and lasted years, you can never tell. I recently decided that I needed to replace all my electrical equipment, not because they were worked past their 'use by' date but because I thought it was time I did so. I didn't need to as i'm retired but there are times when its best to do as you think rather than look at the costs. Selecting a set of pliers seems pretty easy you would think and there are many on the market to choose from but I am slightly particular in what I require. The handles needed to be light and well insulated with large 'hand stops' these stop ... Selecting a set of pliers seems pretty easy you would think and there are many on the market to choose from but I am slightly particular in what I require. The handles needed to be light and well insulated with large 'hand stops' these stop your hands from accidently touching the bare plier heads. The heads themselves needed to be well made and of good quality material, the 'grippers' must lock when applied without shearing which happens with inferior metals. I don't actually look at all that fancy packaging it catches more people than the tools which I suppose is why the manufacturers do it, I want good quality at a reasonable price. When I saw this set I went through my mental check-list even to going as far as looking up the manufacturer 'on line' and after all this I decided to go ahead and purchase them. Sometimes the product received can be a disappointment but not this time. The pliers were everything the manufacturer stated they were, well made and strong, well insulated and light to use, a consideration we often overlook. The supplier was quick to despatch the set and apart from the packing which I thought was total rubbish, plastic bag covered with brown tape! come on people, for this price they should have been in a box! I am very very pleased with them and cant wait to use them in a 'live' situation. Another reason why I purchased this new set was that, and I presume every person has the same problem, is that my wife, bless her cotton socks, does tend to do a little bit of d.i.y. when i'm not around and tends to use whatever she finds around the house, hence her use of my electrical pliers. I've now purchased her a set of standard pliers which reside in her kitchen drawer whilst these will, like the electrical screwdrivers I've just purchased will be locked away in my tool box until I need to use them. So there you are, a good set of electrical pliers, well made, well insulated and worth every penny I think, try them yourself you can always return them if you disagree?
