  • Great BOOK!

I liked that the book was chock full of information about the time period. What they ate during regular times and then what they ate during the starvation periods. This book is also about how the people have become so many, they have split into many clans. The same thing sort of happens as in the first book. They are being followed by clans being followed and on and on. What I don't like is that it's never explained exactly WHAT is making the very first clan push south that is in turn making all the other clans push south. Evil? Mass starvation??? I decided to buy the book because I liked the cover and because it's part of the series by Kathleen O'neal Gear and W. Michael Gear. All in all it's a rich book.

  • People of Fire

The two Gears have written another wonderful prehistoric saga. Like the other titles in this series the reader is transported back in time and for awhile experience the harsh, but fulfilling lives of early humans in a variety of paleolithic environments. And it is done without excessive descriptive filler often found in other works of this type. Also, I personally sense the contribution of both authors' gender-based perspectives in the stories, which makes for a more enriching read.

  • Good story

Interesting story of the first peoples on Earth.

  • People of the Fire

Another great book by superior authors. Sets you back in the era of 1st man with vivid description and accurate accountings of a people long forgotten. We can see that even then in some tribes women were beat down belittled but there were those women who rose above and made a difference.
