Stillpoint is the CD most Madder Lake fans remember. Butterfly Farm is said to be the best but Stillpoint is the one with the big hits 12lb Toothbrush and Goodbye Lollipop. No matter which of the CDs you buy, you'll wind up with a great look into early-70s Australian music. Some reviewers call Madder Lake seminal or classic or some other cliche to cover the fact it's 40-something years old rather than point out why it is seminal or classic. Let's break the mold: If you listen to Stillpoint you will hear sounds that were to come. Sounds akin to what Skyhooks may have come up with a couple of years later, what Russell Morris was doing about then, or somewhere into Thorpie territory. The category is progressive rock but all the rock, pop, jazz and other influences make it more than that ... Stillpoint is the CD most Madder Lake fans remember.
